Northwoods Haven Animal Rescue is a foster-based rescue serving dogs in Vilas County, Wisconsin. Unlike traditional shelters, we do not operate out of a facility. Instead, the animals in our care live in the homes of dedicated volunteer foster families who provide love, socialization, and daily care while they await their forever homes.

Our foster-based model allows animals to thrive in a home environment, helping us better understand their personalities, needs, and behaviors so we can make the best possible match with adoptive families. Every animal deserves a safe place to heal, grow, and be loved, and our foster volunteers make that possible.

Through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and community support, we are committed to creating brighter futures for companion animals throughout the Northwoods
